The Black-eyed Susan is complete.
On a trip to Block Island, RI I saw a Black-eyed Susan while the sun was high in the sky casting dark shadows between the bright yellow flowers. I liked the contrast and I thought it would be cool to show this secret life of shadows because the petals always get the attention.
This piece is 9” x 12” pencil on fine drawing paper. I used pencils 2H, HB, B, 2B
